Journey to Las Torres
This is my black & white collection which I painted from moments of my hike up to the base of Las Torres in Torres Del Paine, Patagonia, Chile.

The purchase of this original painting collection includes all 4 original paintings in black & white watercolour & gouache (unframed). Although not in colour, the strong values and graphic quality of these paintings serve as an instant reminder of the journey to Las Torres, and can be displayed as an attractive and interesting aesthetic in the home or studio.

Story Behind The Paintings

I don’t think I will ever forget this hike. I was up at 4.30am with 3 of my travel mates to catch the sunrise on the hike up, and to head for the major site of the trip.

I went ahead of the group in an attempt to sketch/paint and to capture photos of the journey. I experienced sun, blue sky’s, rain, a mini snow storm, and strong winds on my ascent. The forest hike going over bridges with the rushing water, and beneath the branches of trees as the snow came down was unforgettable.
